Dr. Christos Perisanidis is Professor and Head of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Athens, Greece since 2018. In 2013, Dr. Perisanidis received his Habilitation (Venia Docendi) from the Medical University of Vienna and was promoted to "Dozent" for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. In 2014, he was awarded his PhD from the School of Dentistry, University of Athens. Dr. Perisanidis is Director of the “Master Program in Dentoalveolar Surgery” at the School of Dentistry of the University of Athens. He is Scientific Director of the International Master Program in “Master in Clinical Dentistry – Periodontology and Implantology” at the University Clinic of Dentistry, Medical University of Vienna, Austria. In 2019, Dr. Perisanidis assumed the position of Section Editor (section of Head and Neck Cancer) of the “Journal of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery” and is editorial board member of the journal “Oral Oncology”. Dr. Perisanidis is the Education and Training Officer of the European Association of Cranio-Maxillofacial Surgery (EACMFS). He is Director of the EACMFS “Postagraduate Programme Head and Neck Surgery: Oncology”. Dr. Perisanidis is adjunct Professor at the University of Rochester, New York, USA, visiting Professor at the University of Florida, USA, and visiting Senior Lecturer at the College of Medicine & Dentistry, Birmingham, UK.

Dr. Perisanidis leads several funded research studies focusing on treatment of patients with head and neck cancer. He has authored several peeer-reviewed articles, which have appeared in top medical journals. Dr. Perisanidis has chaired many international conferences, symposia and seminars. He is regularly invited at many international courses and conferences as a plenary lecturer, keynote speaker or chairman.
